Anna joined Action Tutoring as a Programme Coordinator for London in August 2018. A recent English Literature graduate of King’s College London, she volunteered as a tutor with the charity throughout her degree and loved working with pupils in various London schools to help close the attainment gap at a grassroots level.
Born in Birmingham but lovingly adopted by London, she is proud to have been raised in and serve such diverse, fascinating communities. Her firm belief in the erasure of socio-economic disadvantage and her passion for facilitating learning have preoccupied her over the last five years, leading her to volunteer in a host of educational contexts in the U.K., France, and Tanzania.
Six months spent studying in the United States in 2017 brought stark socio-economic disparities into focus and have only furthered her determination to address the factors preventing every young person from flourishing educationally. At this exciting threshold for Action Tutoring, she feels privileged to be part of the charity’s vital work where she can continue to address questions of social inequality and to support the learning of London’s bright, curious young minds.
In her spare time, Anna is a keen cook, runner, and recovering bookworm. If her nose isn’t buried in a recipe book or a Doris Lessing novel, she can be found planning her next travelling adventure.
