Kylie Chan

Pronouns: she/her

Kylie joined Action Tutoring in November 2020 as Programme Coordinator for London, before moving to the role of Training and Quality Coordinator in September 2021.

Kylie delivers initial tutor training to our new volunteer tutors, covering topics from the basics of Action Tutoring to safeguarding. She contributes content to the tutor CPD materials available on Looop, our learning management system. She also carries our tutor observations to ensure our tutoring is of high quality.

Kylie is a former primary school teacher of over 4 years, having done both class based teaching and supply teaching. She is very excited to be joining Action Tutoring’s growing team and contribute to the mission of helping disadvantaged children and young people.

Kylie completed her BA in English Language and English Language Teaching at the University of Greenwich. She then moved on to do her PGCE in Primary Education at Brunel University. She started the first 3 years of her teaching career in West London (living in Ealing Broadway and teaching in Southall). She moved on to teach in a school in Bexleyheath where she did a mixture of both class based teaching and supply teaching.

After seeing first hand the impact Covid-19 had on different schools as a supply teacher, she had a desire to help schools close the education gap for children. Kylie is excited to be working with an inspirational team at Action Tutoring and is passionate about supporting schools through tutoring to help pupils flourish.
