Hannah Leach

Pronouns: she/her

Hannah joined Action Tutoring in August 2021 as Programme Coordinator for Newcastle.

Hannah is responsible for overseeing a caseload of partner schools in Newcastle, liaising and working closely with the schools and pupils as well as managing our pool of volunteer tutors.

Hannah hails from Stoke-on-Trent, and has lived across the North, studying for a BA at Lancaster University, MA at the University of York and PhD at the University of Sheffield, all in Linguistics. She moved to Newcastle in August 2020 while working as a Lecturer at Newcastle University, having also taught at Sheffield for several years.

She is passionate about education at all levels and, having seen first hand how the pandemic deepened existing inequalities between students, is keen to work to close this gap completely.

Outside of work, she has perhaps too many hobbies, including dressmaking, embroidery, cross stitch, RPGs, board games, and making the most out of living near the sea for the first time.
