Henry Derben

Pronouns: he/him

Henry joined Action Tutoring in February 2022 as Media and PR Manager.

He is responsible for building on the media profile of Action Tutoring and helping to tell the positive impact stories of our work on people and communities.

Over the past five years, I have been extensively involved in media and communications work to address some of the most important issues affecting children of our time. I share in the mission of Action Tutoring to fight for a better world where no child’s future is limited by their socio-economic background. Building an enabling, nurturing, and supportive environment for every child to grow and thrive is essential to a better future and I wanted to be part of the life-changing work Action Tutoring is doing.

My role affords me the opportunity to share the amazing and inspirational stories of our volunteers and pupils externally. Hearing the personal motivations of volunteers and reporting on the academic progress of pupils Action Tutoring serves is fulfilling. It fuels my passion to meet and talk to people whose lives have been changed because of our work. It’s the feeling of being exposed to the best of humanity – volunteers serving disadvantaged people with all their might.
