Ilina joined Action Tutoring in August 2021 as Marketing and Recruitment Coordinator, later becoming Marketing and Partnerships Coordinator.
She focuses on Action Tutoring’s online advertisements, partnerships with local volunteer centres and universities.
Action Tutoring is not only a tuition provider, but as an organisation, we value educational advocacy. Our focus on providing accessible services to those who deserve them the most is at the heart of what we do. Even with a remote workplace, there are many chances to connect to community through tutoring, office days, tea breaks and on Slack. My colleagues are open to feedback, always willing to support, encourage me to focus on my development, and we love a good laugh!
My role was a new position at Action Tutoring, so I had the opportunity to shape my role within the marketing team. I was able to bring my love of grassroots organising to the role and deepen my analytical skills, which has been very fruitful. I get to help onboard interested tutors and welcome them to our cause, run adverts for our opportunities across the nation, create reports on my recruitment progress, lead our tutor advocate pool, cultivate relationships with volunteer organisations, and work with our amazing programme team on regional recruitment. Each week is different so I continue to learn and engage in new ways.
