Laura Foley

Pronouns: She/Her

Laura joined Action Tutoring in June 2022 as Programme Coordinator.

She is responsible for overseeing a caseload of partner schools, liaising and working closely with the schools and pupils as well as managing our pool of volunteer tutors.

She has just completed her degree in English Literature at University of Liverpool and as a part of her final year project, Laura undertook a work placement module with Action Tutoring where she tutored on multiple programmes across Merseyside. This work experience provided her, not only with a valuable insight into how the professional world works, but also the amazing and invaluable work that Action Tutoring does.

Growing up in Liverpool, she saw first-hand the positive impact that education can make upon the lives of pupils in socially disadvantaged backgrounds and how it can transform their lives. It was this, as well as witnessing the impact small group tuition can make upon young people’s education during my time as a tutor that really encouraged Laura to apply for this role.

The values and visions of Action Tutoring are closely aligned with her own values and she is so proud to be a part of an organisation that understands the necessity for educational equality.
Outside of work, Laura enjoys walking in the countryside with her dog, Bonnie, as well as spending time going for food and drinks with her friends.
