Shania joined Action Tutoring in November 2022 as Programme Coordinator for Birmingham.
She is responsible for overseeing a caseload of partner schools in Birmingham, liaising and working closely with the schools and pupils, as well as managing our pool of volunteer tutors.
I was brought to Action Tutoring by a passion for working with young people and in education. I was previously a volunteer tutor with Action Tutoring and was drawn to their mission of reducing the education attainment gap, which impacts children from disadvantaged backgrounds. This is something I am extremely passionate about. I like how I have the opportunity to work with different stakeholders, such as schools, volunteer tutors and pupils.
I am looking forward to Action Tutoring expanding its reach and working with more schools and pupils. Additionally, I am looking forward to continuing to help disadvantaged pupils achieve academically and professionally.
