Rachel Roberts

Rachel joined Action Tutoring in April 2022 as Programme Coordinator for Bristol.

Rachel is responsible for overseeing a caseload of partner schools in Bristol, liaising and working closely with the schools and pupils as well as managing our pool of volunteer tutors.

After completing her degree in European Studies, Rachel taught English as a foreign language in the UK, Germany and Spain. On returning home, she completed a PGCE in modern foreign languages in Brighton and took up her first teaching post in Bristol in 2005. Since then, she has taught languages in several secondary schools in and around Bristol, specialising in teaching and learning and professional development.

She has joined Action Tutoring having seen first hand the effects of the pandemic on pupil’s attainment and well-being and is passionate about the role tutoring can play in closing the attainment gap for disadvantaged pupils.
