Partnerships and fundraising

Partnerships and fundraising make a tangible difference to the work we do.  We are extremely grateful for the generous donations and volunteering and fundraising support we receive that enables the young people we support to reach their full potential.

Corporate partnerships

We believe in harnessing the power of volunteering, and we know that tutoring works. We also know that to be a strong and resilient organisation, connecting with others is vital.

Ranging from our partner schools and volunteer tutors, to our funders and supporter organisations, we’re able to thrive through partnership and collaboration.

“Leading a tutoring session each week provides plenty of opportunity for personal development! Including understanding how to pace and structure a lesson, how to keep your pupils engaged, and how to communicate difficult concepts simply. I’ve gained confidence, and the skills I’ve developed are transferable to many other areas of life.”

John, volunteer tutor and Civil Service Policy Officer

We’d love to work with you!

Partnering with Action Tutoring as a corporate or other organisation means more pupils from low-income backgrounds can access high quality support that helps them to progress in life, whether academically or within the working world. Explore our corporate partnership opportunities in our brochure here.

From volunteering to fundraising to pro-bono work, partnering with Action Tutoring is great for developing skills, employee engagement and for businesses to positively impact communities.

It’s so easy for your teams to get involved with our volunteering.  Once they apply, we’ll support them through the training and DBS process.  We provide all of the tutoring materials, so they don’t need to have any previous teaching experience or plan the content of the sessions.  A member of our staff will be on hand at their tutoring programmes to support and help them develop.  We can also run reflection sessions with your groups to help them identify the skills they’ve honed and reflect on their experiences.

We offer ‘in-person’ opportunities in a number of cities, so there may be something close to your office, or virtual opportunities meaning volunteers can tutor from your office!

We can also support by providing virtual information sessions and promotional material, to help spread the word.

I’ve been thrilled to volunteer for Action Tutoring. The words that come to mind are ‘fun’ and ‘easy’. They have a well embedded model which supports you through training and comprehensive workbooks, and the time commitment is not intense – just one hour a week, plus a small amount of prep time, across a school term. It brings a smile to my face because the pupils are excited to be there and very appreciative of the support. I’m looking forward to getting involved again.

Fundraising

By providing high quality maths and English tutoring, both online and in person, we aid our pupils to not only increase their subject knowledge and study skills, but also their confidence and growth mind-set.

We want to extend our reach to ensure as many pupils as possible across England get the help they need. We would be grateful for any fundraising support you can provide and have shared ideas below on how you and your networks can get involved.

How do you spend the money raised?

We believe Action Tutoring represents an excellent social return on investment. We keep our administrative overheads to a minimum and through the effective use of volunteers we are able to keep the costs of a programme very low compared to private tutoring.
