Improve SATs performance

Pupils tutored in English and maths through our programmes are significantly more likely to meet expected standards in SATs. In 2023–24:

  • 24% more pupils met the expected standard in English
  • 20% more pupils met the expected standard in maths (compared to other pupils facing disadvantage nationally)

We’ve been partnered with Walkergate Community School in Newcastle since 2022. Here’s what Deputy Headteacher Jenny had to say about how Action Tutoring has supported their pupils facing disadvantage to achieve expected standard:

Build pupil confidence and motivation

Our small group model ensures every child feels seen and supported. Pupils build meaningful relationships with their tutors, helping to improve attendance, classroom engagement, and confidence.

“His attendance, attitude and performance gradually started to improve… He went on to meet expected standards.”

– Gemma, Deputy Headteacher, Badock’s Wood E-ACT Academy
