CJ Jessup

Pronouns: they/them

CJ joined Action Tutoring in December 2020 as Curriculum and Training Assistant, before moving to their current role of Training and Quality Coordinator in September 2021.

CJ delivers initial tutor training to our new volunteer tutors, covering topics from the basics of Action Tutoring to safeguarding. They contribute content to the tutor CPD materials available on Looop, our learning management system. They also carry our tutor observations to ensure our tutoring is of high quality.

CJ studied Chinese and Spanish at the University of Leeds. After graduating, they took part in the Charityworks graduate scheme, working in training and communications.

They later completed a CELTA (Cambridge Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) and gained teaching experience with young people and adults in language schools and charities, both face-to-face and online, before joining Action Tutoring.
