Jennifer joined Action Tutoring in March 2024 as Programme Coordinator for Newcastle.
Jennifer is responsible for overseeing a caseload of partner schools in Newcastle, liaising and working closely with the schools and pupils as well as managing our pool of volunteer tutors.
I admire Action Tutoring’s ethos and their commitment to helping young people achieve their potential.
I have lots of experience in education (and even used to volunteer with Action Tutoring as an English tutor!). When I finished my master’s in August 2023, I wanted to find a job that combined my knowledge of education with my interest in working in the charity sector. I feel very lucky to have found a role that allows me to do this and I am very excited to be working for Action Tutoring.
In my role as Programme Coordinator, I love that I get to meet so many different people. These include my colleagues at Action Tutoring, school staff, our dedicated tutors and of course the pupils themselves!
Having worked with children and young people from disadvantaged backgrounds for a number of years, I am really proud to be a part of an organisation that makes an active difference in tackling the attainment gap.
