Rachael Galletly

Rachael joined Action Tutoring in August 2020 as Programme Coordinator for Sheffield. She later became a Senior Programme Coordinator before becoming the Northern Programme Manager in January 2023.
As a Programme Manager, Rachael oversees the delivery of our tutoring programmes in partner schools in Sheffield, Newcastle and County Durham. She is in charge of maintaining and developing relationships with partner schools and making sure tutoring sessions run smoothly.
I came to Action Tutoring because I wanted a job in education that wasn’t teaching, and to share my skills and experience in a different way. I also wanted to continue working with pupils from disadvantaged backgrounds.
I enjoy the varied tasks my work entails; working with wonderful colleagues, working from home and the level of self-direction I have over my schedule. In Action Tutoring’s future, I’m looking forward to working with more schools in the regions which really need it. I hope our virtual programmes can reach more ex-mining communities; disadvantaged seaside towns, etc.
