Rachel Taylor
Rachel joined Action Tutoring in February 2023 as a Programme Coordinator for Sheffield.
Rachel is responsible for overseeing a caseload of partner schools in Sheffield, liaising and working closely with the schools and pupils as well as managing our pool of volunteer tutors.
One of the things I enjoy most about working at Action Tutoring is the people! It is evident that everyone in the organisation has a shared passion for our mission and impact. The willingness from team members across the organisation to offer their support is incredible. It’s a joy to work with people who motivate, inspire and encourage you!
Since graduating University, I knew I wanted to work in the charity sector. I was delighted to see a job advertised that combined my passion for education with the aim of tackling disadvantage.
I enjoy the variety of my role! Every day is slightly different and offers new challenges. A particularly rewarding aspect of the role is interacting with pupils and seeing their confidence increase over the course of a tutoring programme. It is always great to witness the positive impact that a tutor can have on their pupils.
I am looking forward to continuing to support more pupils to achieve academically, working towards minimising the attainment gap. I am looking forward to seeing us grow and our impact increase as we look towards partnering with more schools.
