Sarah Hay

Pronouns: she/her

Sarah joined Action Tutoring in September 2020 as the Programme Team Administrator. She is currently our Operations Manager for the Programme team.

In her role, she supports the programme team with programme delivery by managing the ordering and distribution of programme resources, organising travel, supporting with tutor cover and ensuring reference documents are kept up to date.

Alongside this, she is involved in the recruitment and induction of new programme staff, undertakes regular safeguarding checks and actively supports schools in set up processes, including the distribution of important documents.

Sarah graduated from the University of Warwick with a degree in Psychology. During her time at university, she advocated for social change as part of a mental health awareness society.

While studying, Sarah provided small group tutoring in mathematics at her local secondary school. She was able to witness first hand the impact that tutoring can have on pupil confidence, academic ability and engagement with education. She strongly believes that all children should have access to tutoring and is excited to be part of a charity that enables this.

Sarah has previous experience as a charity volunteer and has worked in management and customer service roles. She looks forward to re-joining the charity sector and supporting the team to achieve effective programme delivery.

In her spare time, Sarah loves to travel, read good books and try out new recipes – her speciality is arancini!
